Message from the Sheriff

​Dear Fellow Citizens,

As your Sheriff, I have the responsibility to enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner to prevent and deter crime, and to apprehend and detain those who are accused or convicted of violating the law. Law enforcement should and must be conducted within statutory limitations. It must ensure the safety and well-being of the community while preserving the constitutional rights of everyone.

I, along with the staff that I have appointed, take a great deal of pride in serving the citizens of Northumberland County. Professionalism, training, and service are paramount. Most officers and civilian staff members are cross-trained in several areas allowing coverage and flexibility as needs arise. 

This website is one way we communicate with the community. We hope you will take the time to learn about what we do and connect with us as needed.
